Quote of the Month: February 2010

“What follows? That the country is shipwrecked, lost, and gone to pieces because you can’t provide for Noodle!”

- Lord Boodle

- Bleak House (1852-1853), Charles Dickens

Yes! Dickens again. If you would like to read this ridiculously long novel, Project Gutenberg has it availaible for free here.

A Cold Day in Hell

This photo was taken in Orlando, Florida. It’s not supposed to be this cold here. Living in Ohio for 20 some odd years, the cold weather does not bother me, but this is down the street from Walt Disney World. Come on!

Quote of the Month: January 2010

“What are you going to do with Noodle?”

- Lord Boodle

- Bleak House (1852-1853), Charles Dickens

If you’ve read Bleak House from Charles Dickens and understand the shifting alignments as it’s underlining tone then maybe you’ll understand where and why I’ve chosen it for this months quote. If not, I understand, it’s quit obscure and the meaning has probably been lost to history, but I cannot expand on my selection for so many reasons.

Here’s a better idea, go catch up with the guys at The Chief Source.

On Saturday, January 2, 2010 I went to the Miami Metro Zoo in hopes of obtaining a set of photographs for the 2010 Wildlife Conservation Series. Although the zoo is only 150 miles from me, I rarely travel south so I had a plan to shoot a bunch of photos. The last time I visited this zoo, it was March in 2008 and the weather was perfect. So I thought that January with it’s low to mid 50’s temperatures would create a better environment to shoot in.

Roy E. Disney (1930 – 2009)

Roy E Disney

Roy E. Disney passed away on December 16, 2009 due to complications with stomach cancer. He was 79.

Roy is the nephew of Walt Disney and the son of Roy O. Disney, Walt’s brother and long time partner in the venture that we all  know today as the Walt Disney Company.

Roy played a defining role in bringing about the renewal of Disney Animation in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s with such classics as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King.

I had the pleasure of meeting Roy Disney along with Jeffery Katzenberg during the Walt Disney World 20th anniversary special event at the Disney-MGM Studios theme park in October of 1991.
